Packin' it up
Suitcase grabbed
A tiny load
Packed all the things
I need for the road.

My parents don't listen,
Don't hear a word I say,
No other solution
But be on my way.

Two teddies,
My favorite toys,
Even things like that
Are for the boys.

Mamma told me
Have a safe trip,
I just hope
My bike doesn't flip.

At the corner of the street
I looked both ways,
But then I remembered
The words mama always says:

You're too young
To cross the street alone,
So I stood there,
A tough bone to chew on.

I waited and waited
For an adult to come by,
But no one did,
No one even tried.

In the end I went home,
Told mama I'm sorry,
She just hugged me
And told me not to worry.
