Haunted

Last night I heard you in my dreams
You banished all my fears
I thought I heard you speak to me
And smiled through my tears

Although you are so near me
You're also far away
We've sunk into silence
At the close of day

Come up out of your sorrow
Come out into the light
Leave your dark past behind you
Leave the angry stormy night

I know how much you need me
But you won't take my hand
You will never break our silence
You will never take a stand

And so we watch through windows
And slowly drift apart
And hope one day we'll meet again
And make a brand new start
