The Flag marks the spot

Red, white, and blue flags mark the spots
Where our soldiers lie, who gave their all.
Taps play solemnly then we hear the shots.
Some are buried right where they fall.
Honorable flowers mark the graves
Of the sons, daughters, spouses and parents too.
Long suffering men who could not save
Their brother who fell and now they feel blue.
Memorial day is a day of remembrance
For those who served our nation with bravery.
For those who showed endurance
Now they are a memory.
