BC; Farm Fresh

You've been invited to a spring food festival, celebrating farm fresh fruits, cheeses and meats. Why do you think food tastes better when it comes straight from a farm? Would you consider living on a farm? Why or Why not.





I grew up on a farm. The food tastes better because it is. We picked it straight off the vine and there were no herbicides or waxes or this and that added to it to preserve shelf life.


Cheese? We did not live on a dairy farm, but if you have a deli that makes it’s own product that is best, because it is. They don’t add preservatives or junk, they just put it out, it sells and they do it again the next day.


Proteins? We only butchered our own chickens. Everything else got sent to a meat locker for butchering. Why did it taste better? Because it does. There is no junk or other additives to spoil the taste. They just cut it and put it in the deep freeze right away until ready for consumption.
