The clock is crouching, dark and small, Like a time bomb in the hall. Hark, it's midnight, children dear. Duck! Here comes another year!” Ogden Nash, Collected verse from 1929 on This morning I am thankful that this is the last day of 2014 and that a New Gregorian Year begins at midnight.
