Thanksgiving
Prompt: What does Thanksgiving mean to you? Do preparations begin on Sunday. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday? What do you prepare?

The first Thanksgiving happened in the 1770's when the Pilgrims and Indians had a feast together. Too bad they didn't always get along all through the years. Thanksgiving is a day of thanks for your blessings all year long and hope for the future. I spend the day with my husband and my son and his wife used to stop by but they are in Minnesota now so they won't be here this year. I am going to miss them.

I get the turkey out to thaw in the refrigerator on Sunday night and I put it in the sink for 6 hours Wednesday night. Thursday, my husband and I cook the turkey and we have potatoes, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, creamed corn and this year, we are having oreo cookie cream pie. I used to bake a cake on Wednesday but I won't be this year.

Here's wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!
