Gone with the Wind

So i was thinking about what book first got my attention and sparked the love of the written word. I have read a lot of books and a lot read to me, but it was not until i hit my tweenies and got permission to read Gone With the Wind that I fell in love with books and with writing. I am a very slow reader and it took a lot of time to get through it. My mom was thrilled because she now had someone who wanted to go to a 3-hour movie with her. Ms. Mitchell only wrote one book, she gave it her all and it was enough. Others may try, but in my humble opinion nothing else even comes close to this classic. She just set the bar so very high. Maybe one day someone will surpass her....I hope it's me.
