Picture: "Little House On The Prairie"

Prompt: Recall an old childhood photo. Narrate the events that lead up to the photo.

It is a picture of me in a "Little House On The Prairie" dress. It is red with red flowers. I am wearing a matching bonnet to compliment the dress. Grandpa is wearing a brown suit and has a pocket watch hanging out of the vest and a derby hat. He does look stunning. Grandma is wearing a black dress with flowers and a bonnet to match. My mother is wearing a blue dress and a bonnet that matches. Are we in a movie or a TV Show? Have we lived before in another time period? No. It is the Centennial. Hamlet, Indiana turned 100 years old. Everyone in town went back to the past for one day. This was fifty years ago I didn't appreciate it back then but now that I am older, I do. My mother has three of these pictures in her album. Someday, I will probably scrapbook Mom's old pictures. Pictures aren't safe around a scrapbooker. I preserve them for future memories. I was Laura Engles for a day. I suddenly find myself humming "Little House On The Prairie" theme.
