Two by two

Two by two, hands of blue
we walk together through the snow
shivering as the north winds blow.

"What are you doing," he said reaching over to stroke my right hand and knocking the pen to the table.

"I'm writing a poem," I picked up the pen with my left hand and continued to write.

'Why?"

"Because your hands inspired me."

"How did..." he looked down at his hands. "Oh!" He hid his hands under the table. "Please, don't say anything about this to anyone!"

"Only if you tell me why your hands are blue." I look down at my hand to see it turning blue. "Why is my hand turning blue?"

"Because I'm an alien and I love you."

"I suppose that makes as much sense as anything else," I laughed. "You are the weirder then me, which explains why I love you."

"Then can we.."

"Not until you meet my parents!"
