Last night
I dreamed of the sea,
and watched the setting sun
fade into the night.

I saw fingers of fire
rake across the sky,
reluctant to die,
yet compelled.

The retreating waves
left trails of tears
in the sand
weeping for the loss of the tide.

I saw you sprout wings
and fly to the moon
and heard you whisper
"I Miss You"
in the wind.

And I woke up alone
Without you.
