Swimming Hole
Prompt: Write a short story or poem about a swimming hole.

I was all ready to go fishing. I had my pole and my worms. I wore some old clothes and soon I had arrived at my swimming hole. Did I really want to fish? I was going to do this. I took a grimy worm. He was slippery and disgusting but I got him on the hook. I threw my reel in the river and next thing I knew, I had a fish. My pole was bouncing. I was so excited. An otter appeared out of no where and stoled my fish! Can you believe that? I think he was laughing! I put another ugly worm on a hook and cast my reel again. A beaver was headed my way. What did he want? I got another fish. The beaver took my fish! Do beavers even heat fish? Are you kidding me? Maybe I should go swim with the beaver and otter. I might have better luck. One more time, I baited my hook. I got a fish. My pole was bouncing and I could hardly hang on to it. I reeled it in. A twenty pounder, two footer! I struck gold. I fell back trying to reel it out. I was on my back with this big ole fish flopping on me. Out of no where, came a fox and he took my fish! What? I don't believe this! What did the fox say? This one was laughing and I think he said: "Thanks, Lady!" I slowly got up. I am going home and have fish sticks. At least, I won't have to fight otters, beavers and a fox there. I never want to see that swimming hole again.
