My Ancient Warriors


There is a dragon inside me.
A warrior, yet a friend
He haunts me from another world,
He tells me who I am.

He waits with coiled muscles,
To protect, comfort, and fight.
My ancestors wait beside him,
And watch me from the light.

Although they're fierce and frightening,
They give me strength and power.
I know they're watching over me,
And are with me every hour.

So when demons cross my path,
And I'm afraid I will break, not bend,
They add their courage to my own,
And fight beside me to the end.
