The Song of the Lonely

Alone again,
in an overcast morn
the only remains
of the midnight storm.

The calm sea has settled,
its anger now gone
The bruised clouds and mist,
all that's left from its song.

It likes to strike fear
in the sailors at sea,
But it cannot
silence my bravery.

I am comfort,
I am light,
I am the angel
in the night.

I am the voice
that sings them home,
I have many friends,
yet I am alone.

I am old, I am weathered
I am alone and gray,
But I see my value
In the dawn of the day.
