Day 1: Blue Lion

Bree and Don come across this massive blue lion and minx of a chick/girl. "The Gift" 

The chick says, "Answer 3 riddles and you may pass."

The chick asks the first riddle, the lion asks the second, they both ask the third:
1. What grows for years but never moves? It's roots grow deep but never choose their own direction.

2. They spend their life chasing me; as big and horrible as I can be, I kill them until they kill me. Refusing to glance at this speakers tail will help you to no avail. Who are "they"?

3. Though dim and dark it's always around, on the setting horizon it wears a crown. It's possible for one to experience it the same time another does not. It comes around the same time every day if you stay in one spot. What is "it"?

2. Firemen/women! The tip of the lions (the speaker of the 2nd riddle) tail is on fire.
3. Night. Got the idea from the color of the lions fur, midnight looking. The 'crown' refers to the setting sun = night's crown.
