Prompt: It is New Years Eve. We make resolutions every year. Are we ever successful? Do we make the same ones every year? Share some of your resolutions that you made when you were 16, 25, 35, 45, 55, 65, 75. What is different about your life now? Wow! A trip back in time. I will try to remember so here we go. 16: I made a resolution to be in Beauty Pageants, do enough plays to be in Thespian Society and always hoped for the right boyfriend. I got to be in Beauty Pageants, make Thespian Society and had a couple of boyfriends that were all wrong for me. I graduated and went to a Junior College and had another loser boyfriend and another boyfriend who was from Thailand but we decided we were better off as close friends. 25: Looking for Mr. Right and hoping to get married. I wanted a different job. Quit smoking was another resolution. I found the right man and got married to my Prince Charming. I quit smoking and quit my Nursing Home job for another Nursing Home job. I had my QMA. It made the job easier. 35:. Move into a new house in the country. Find another job. We moved into a new house in the country that we built but a fire destroyed it and we rebuild. This was nine years later. I got a job at the County Home which is now a mental health facility. 45: Wanting to retire. Write books. I did get a couple of books published but still worked at the mental health facility. 55: Still want to retire. As you all know, I had extensive bowel and hernia surgery and am lucky to be alive. I hope my health will be alright and that I will never need surgery again. I just want to walk and go up and downstairs. I can walk up and down six steps at a time. I just try to enjoy each day. 65 and 75. I am not that old. I just resolve to be alive that long. Staying alive is the most important resolution of all! ** Image ID #1968687 Unavailable ** |
