I have posted my response to MHWA Mental Health Challenge and other items to this journal. |
Normally, I prefer to wait until March 21 (the New Year I celebrate) to sit my goals (resolutions) in stone, but this year I think I going to take a little different approach. I'm deciding on my all goals (I don't like the term resolutions) before January 1; this way I can have a plan in place to accomplish the goals. I may tweak the plan around March 21, because by then I should know how well the plan works, but I doubt that I'll change them too much. Goals for 2014 Joint Humana SilverSneakers program and go to gym (I'll wait until after I've talked to the people at the gym on Monday to find out how often I want or need to go). Participate in the 52 week money savings challenge Write between 1,500 to 2,000 words each day (using a range is less stressful and I'm happier when I exceed the 2,000 word mark). Laugh for fifteen minutes each day (I don't laugh enough). Complete at least 12 writing projects during 2014. That is five goals to work on in 2014, I think that is enough and it may be too much. Sometimes my eyes can be bigger then my stomach (a phrase my grandfather like to use when one of his grandchildren took on more then they could handle). Now that I have my goals established, I need to work on a plan to accomplish them. I think that's one of the places where I usually fall short when I sit my goals. The second issue is discipline (at least, I think that's where I encounter problems accomplishing my goals). I should know by March 21, 2014 if these are the issues causing me to fall short of my goals.
