So today was my first official day at writing.com.  I hesitated for a second and then pushed my doubts aside to submit my first entry for today's Daily Flash Fiction Challenge.

It was certainly a challenge for me to try and get my writing in under 300 words.  When I sit down to write it seems to flow and not want to stop, so I actually really enjoyed having to set myself some restrictions.

I have been writing secretly for years and only admitted to a few people of late about my passion for creating fiction.  I have never shown anyone my writing pieces but today, after submitting 'Stranded' I asked my husband to read it.

He's not into reading really so a short 300 word piece was perfect to start him on.

I gotta say I was very nervous.  How do I know if my writing is any good?  All I know is that I love to write so it's possible that it's complete crap.

My husband said he liked it which was nice to hear.  He's very honest so he would have given me feedback if he thought I needed to improve on something.

I guess at this stage I am looking for approval.  I want to know if I have the makings of an author in me, so here I am, finally stepping outside the box!

It's rather exhilarating !!!
