War Chest Tuesday: Bicycle Memories
The September 17, 2013 prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUSOpen in new Window. is
What memories does your bicycle have for you?

I remember my birthday bike,
I graduated to it from a trike.

I'm not sure which birthday I received the bicycle. I was either seven or eight years old. I thought I was a big girl because I graduated from three wheels to two wheels. Of course, it was much more difficult to ride on two wheels then three wheels, but eventually I learned to balance. That was one of my biggest accomplishments up to that point. It is interesting that I learned to balance a bike, but in all the years I worked as a food server I could never learn to balance a food serving tray.

Bicycle memories

I remember my birthday bike,
The first time I rode I yelled whoopee,
I graduated to it from a trike.

I thought my bike the most beautiful sight,
I was happy to be me,
I remember my birthday bike,

To school I did not have to hike,
I went on a riding spree,
I graduated to it from a trike.

Once I rode the bike at night,
I fell off and skinned my knee.
I remember my birthday bike,

When riding I was a joyful sight.
I felt like I was free.
I remember my birthday bike,

That blue bike I really liked,
I rode with abandoned glee,
I remember my birthday bike,
I graduated to it from a trike.
