August Random Thoughts 4
1

Last night I wondered
is it the caffeine
keeping me awake tonight
or anxiety?

2

Then I realized
it was the street light
shining into
my living room window.

The list goes on...
the bottomless basket of laundry,
the never empty sink of dishes,
the bird singing outside my kitchen window,
the gray cloudy sky,
and the wind picks up
blowing the neighbor's trashcan
down the street.

A Lazy Saturday Afternoon

It's a lazy Saturday afternoon
and the only thing
I want to do is write.

It's a lazy Saturday afternoon,
a breeze
is blowing
through oak and olive trees.

It's a lazy Saturday afternoon,
the clouds are moving
slowly to the east,
as patches of blue sky
appears between patches
of white and gray.

It's a lazy Saturday afternoon,
a good time to write
free verse or haiku.

It's a lazy Saturday afternoon
in Las Vegas:

clouds hide the bright sun
the wind blows the limbs of trees
olive, oak, and pine.

The End of The Week

Jal'l (Glory), 5 Asm' (Names), 170 BE - Saturday, August 24, 2013 about 4:20 PM Pacific Daylight Time

At the end of the week,
I watch the clouds moving
from west to east
as I contemplate the handouts
on self-care and happiness.

As I meditate,
I realize that grief is a chrysalis
in which transformation occurs,
but in order
to continue my spiritual and emotional growth,
I must
spread my wings and fly.
