ME: Last year I was in Bergen for all the flag waving and fun. This year I was in Stavanger. Got to one parade last year; this year parts of three. The children's parade (barnetoget) [think 1st graders waving flags, singing, with older kids playing band instruments] started it at 10:00 followed by the graduating teenagers (russetoget) [girls running, screaming; boys dancing and jumping up and down] at 13:15. The folketoget [all kinds of groups] finished off the day at 16:00. I wasn't feeling 100% so I took it easy. Lots of pictures, even the church. Met a nice guy and his dog in the cemetery (from Voss) and ran into Mia and later spoke with Eva... I'm in a big city and running into folks I've met before! So: Arranged the next four days. An extra night here. 3 nights in Bergen. Time to breathe... Breakfast was awesome and included. But I bought some goat cheese and shrimp cream cheese to fend off hunger pains. Treated myself to a cocosbolle (think chocolate covered coconut cream). Should rest. Tomorrow I can do whatever I want, may go see a fjord. In the evening there's the Eurovision final. It's all good. |
