Dazzling

Another Day

Friday's child is full of grace
but on Monday the weight
of the week is a burden

on Tuesday the end
of the week's a mirage

Wednesday is the peak,
or a bump in the middle

Thursday she trips
over boots laced tight
as the two flights of stairs
make a mountain

Friday is pure, with a fizz
and a thrill, while the two

last days are hot blue
with blank promise

until the dour atmosphere
of afternoon Sunday
contracting most slowly
to Monday.
