The April 8, 2013 prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS" is What is your favorite and/or least favorite day of the week? Monday is a day that most people decry, but sometimes I like Mondays because it is so sly and sneaks upon me with a wonderful surprise. This week I like Monday because it rained this morning. I live is Las Vegas, which is in a desert so rain is something that most of us look forward to experiencing. Spring rain is especially nice because it has a slight wintry chill, but still warm enough not to freeze me to the bone. It rained enough today to wash my car and leave a puddle in my driveway. This week I like Monday because the bird that flew into my covered patio on Sunday was still alive. I saw the bird, I think it was a nightingale, fly onto the patio through the open door and did not think anything of it because I figure he would fly out the same way he came in. The bird was still on the patio this morning so I had to go out and herd him toward the still open door. It took me a couple of tries, but eventually he flew out the door. This experience did teach me one thing, just because a creature enters through an open door does not mean it knows to leave the same way. Sometimes I like Monday and sometimes I would like to start my week on Tuesday because Monday seems like a waste of energy. Food for Thought: “What about Monday? That could be our one day we look at things the same way, and wear funny shoes.” ― Kevin Dalton |
