Dazzling

an everyday heaven

The purring tabby is a weight on my knee,
her moon-eyes gazing through black and green.
The drool she's producing amuses me.

The sky is pastel taffeta shot with silver,
the early moon, a clear chrome pick,
plucks at the strings of my heart.

My cup is wreathed with fragrant steam
and my bones sit together, perfectly,
in an everyday heaven I've chosen to see.
