Disconnected Dream Weirdness
Wednesday, August 1, 2012 ~ Day 1 of the August 2012 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is Describe an unusual/weird dream that you have had recently.

Knocks,
shouts,
someone is knocking at my bedroom window,
on the glass patio door,
on the iron security screen at the front door.

Wake up
(at least I think I wake up),
force myself to think,
look out into the darkness,
look out at the oleander bush
reflecting...
Am I awake?
Am I still asleep?

My limbs won’t move;
force myself to get up
and robot-walk into the dining room,
the patio light is lit,
but no one is on the patio.

Go into the living room
and look out the picture window...
my car is gone!

Is this a dream?

I remember
putting my car in the garage
last night.

Start to go to the front door,
but find myself sitting up in bed,
so I get up
(hoping I am awake this time)
pass through the dining room
on my way to the entrance hall,
I open the front door
the security screen is locked
and my car
is parked in the garage;
I check the clock in the living room
and it is 2:30 AM;
since the alarm is set to go off
in thirty minutes
there is no use going back to bed;
therefore,
I take my thyroid medication
and sit down on the couch,
with my prayer book.
