A Nice Cold Glass of Buttermilk

I had a nice cold glass of buttermilk last night. It was low fat buttermilk, which was all the store carried. I prefer whole milk of any type, but since it is hard to find these days I drink what I can get. I got used to the taste of regular low fat milk and I got used to the taste of powdered milk. Therefore, I will eventually get used to the taste of low fat buttermilk.

If I have a choice of milk, then I would rather drink the low fat buttermilk then the low fat powered milk I mix up. I does not matter whether I follow the directions or mix the powdered milk creatively; it still does not taste like regular milk. At least, the low fat buttermilk comes close to tasting like the buttermilk I remember drinking as a child.

I will have another glass of buttermilk today. I am still trying to decide if I should give Mom a small glass today or not. I am not sure how Mom’s system will react to the buttermilk. I put regular milk on my cereal, but Mom eats her cereal without milk; at least at home. I am not sure if she has milk on her cereal at the daycare center or not. I do not know and I am not worried about it because I have enough to worry about when Mom is home and I am feeding her.

Periodically, I ask Mom if she wants milk on her cereal and she says no. I will ask her if she wants a sip of buttermilk today and if she does I will give her a small amount in a cup. It has been a long time since Mom drink buttermilk, in fact I am not sure whether she likes it or not. I suppose I had better ask her.
