Friday, May 25, 2012 ~ MAY 2012 FOLLOW ME BLOGGING CHALLENGE prompt is "This one's about what you'd be." by Fivesixer What would you be doing if you weren't doing what you're doing to earn a living? Right now, I’m collecting Social Security, working as an unpaid caregiver to my mother, and attempting (this occurs at random intervals) to get blog ads for my off-site blogs. What I am doing for a living is surviving. Apparently, I’m good at surviving, not real good at housekeeping though. However, none of that answers the question. My only desire Is to write poems stories And colonize Mars I’ve always wanted to go to another planet. At certain times of my life I’ve been content on Earth, but I don’t think I’ve been really happy. I think there’s a difference between contentment and happiness. In thinking back over the past 65 years, at least the working part of them, I’ve come to realize that I’ve never held a job I enjoyed as much as I enjoy writing. I have worked as a waitress, a laundromat attendant, a computer lab instructor, a tutor, sold Mary Kay products, a housekeeper, sold Fuller Brush products, a counter attendant in a fast food restaurant, been an unpaid caregiver to my grandparents and now my mother. The only job I have found fulfilling, other then writing is care giving which are often times stressful and wearing on my soul. Since colonizing Mars or any other planet in the universe is out of the question. Unless a UFO abducts me, (I’m still hoping for this). I would be writing and publishing what I wrote on a consistent basis. I’m going to close this now and work on some poems that have sit in my pen and paper journal for several days waiting for me to finish them.
