Marcella shale or Marcellus shale
February 6, 2012 ~ 30-Day Blogging Challenge prompt is MARCELLA SHALE, USA ----
I’m not sure about “Marcella Shale, USA”, but Marcellus Shale refers to energy development. Marcellus shale is an outcrop of marine sedimentary rock near Marcellus, New York. According to Wikipeda, Marcellus shale contains natural gas reserves.
The location of this formation covers Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, and New York. Some of the gas wells are drilled near water wells, which cause concerns in the communities where these wells are located. Since I haven’t heard of this before and haven’t had a chance to do more research, I’m going to have to reserve my opinion until I can find more information on this subject.
