The Continuing Saga of Prosperous Snow |
30-Day Blogging Challenge September 1 to September 30, 2011 ~ Day 19 Prompt: Plug your city or hometown...it doesn't matter if it's where you're from or where you're at. Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world, is a great city. It has wonderful weather most of the year. I would say it has great weather all year, but I suspect that would be an overstatement since no city in the world can have good weather all year long. The History Channel and Animal Planet feature Las Vegas reality shows, shows I always try to watch. There are museums; one of the newest is the Mob Museum, which I have not yet visited. On the first Friday of every month the arts district features First Friday with poetry readings and lets local artist display there work. Then there are the hotel-casinos with various restaurants, shows, and, of course, gaming. The gaming referred to here is euphuism for gambling. Then there is Lake Mead and the Las Vegas Zoo, yes, we have a zoo and it is not the Las Vegas Strip. Las Vegas also has a sense of humor, otherwise how would an ex-mob lawyer ever become (former) mayor. We have a new Mayor now, who is the wife of the former Mayer. Las Vegas is a fun place to visit. It is an interesting place to live. There are parks and churches (I mention churches because I have been ask by first time visitors “Does Las Vegas have churches?”). Las Vegas is the home of UNLV (University of Nevada, Las Vegas). Las Vegas is a good place to live, especially if you like sunshine. |
