Day to day stuff....a memoir without order.

Who knew?
At the library yesterday, I checked out Stephen King's On Writing, A Memoir of the Craft.
I didn't know he could be so funny. I just picked it up to read, and I've already laughed out loud three times. And I'm only on page 16. His humor, though, like his writing, is sort of horror-based. Who else could make having your eardrum pierced, funny?

Then I decided to look him up online and found out he is a baseball fan of the Boston Red Sox. Somewhere else it said he owned a summer home in Florida. Through those channels, since the Grapefruit League is in Florida, I found out his summer home is in Casey Key, just south of Sarasota. And I thought he was far, far away in Maine. Oh well, I think I'm getting a little carried away here.

Perusing his website, I was astonished to find I have read or seen 14 of his books and/or movies. One happens to be a very favorite that I didn't even know he was connected with*Blush*, Dolores Claiborne. He really is a prolific writer.

It was the word "memoir" that encouraged me to pick up his book about writing. I am researching all aspects of the memoir form. More on Stephen to come later....

until next time...c
