Am I afraid of death?
O SON OF THE SUPREME!
I have made death a messenger of joy to thee. Wherefore dost thou grieve? I made the light to shed on thee its splendor. Why dost thou veil thyself therefrom?
Baha'u'llah, The Arabic Hidden Words, #32
The final breath exhaled
The soul ascends
A butterfly of light
Fluttering
Around the tree of life
The journey now complete
The spirit sings
An angelic voice echoing
Through all the worlds of God
Death of the physical body is a change, a transformation from one state of existence to another. The soul takes off the garment of mortality (the body) and puts on the cloak of immortality. It takes with it the spiritual attributes acquired during its journey through the material world. Why fear walking through a door into a wider state of existence?
To answer the question, No I do not fear death. When the time comes for my soul to pass through the door into the next world, my body will begin the process of decomposition and my soul will begin a new phase in the adventure of life.
