From the Publishers
This is todays comments from Silver Publishing: Hi McKinzie, During the week after Halloween (Oct 31 - Nov 4) Silver is releasing stories by ten new-to-Silver-Publishing authors.

Your story, "The Dance", is one of the ten chosen for this special release event, and your release date is November 3. I'm in the process of assigning your editor now and you should be hearing from them shortly. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

This is some input from Rogue Phoenix Press on improving Soul Mate: I have reread your book Soul Mate. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Very different kind of story. I loved the unpredictable ending, too. However, we still have pov problems. Keep in mind that a scene should be in the point of view of only one of your characters. There were places where you changed the pov within the same paragraph. We really need to fix this. I'm sure I didn't find all of the pov problems. Your story was so interesting there were several times I was so in the story, I had to catch myself and go back to start looking for pov changes. I have marked them using the show markup.

You used ellipses ... so much that it grew distracting. They are a tool that yes, it has it's place, but it should be used sparingly. Please go through and eliminate the majority of ellipses and replace with the proper punctuation.

I had a little trouble with James in the beginning of the story because he wasn't likable. That's ok when he wasn't the hero. In the beginning we didn't know this though and it seemed to the reader he would be the hero. When it turned out that he wasn't the hero, I said ok, I can go with that but then you set him up to be the hero in a second story. I think if the sequel is to make it, James has to have hero qualities in the first book. So he can't want to rape the heroin in this book. You shouldn't have any inferences to rape.

When you make the changes and send it back, your book will go to the copy editor.

Well, guess I've got some work to do this weekend to tweak Soul Mate. My character of James, though, didn't want to rape the heroine. He just wanted her.

Of course, this also makes me take a second look at the other stories too which is why I'm doing a rewrite on Dark Moon Harvest. These are just some of the things an author must go through to get the story just right.

So the plate is full with rewrites, creating new material, my job, and going back to school. Think I've got enough going on? LOL

Do think I will pursue a sequel to Soul Mate though. Since it was a thought, I made the ending so that it could be done.

Starting to storm so gotta run! See you all later :)
