Day to day stuff....a memoir without order. |
Since today is "my pick", I'll update what's happening in my life. Yesterday was MRI day for Jim. However, it did not happen. There was a form to fill out...a long form...and one of the questions asked about filters you might have inside you. Well, Jim had an ivc filter placed in late 2006 when he had pulmonary emboli, and the MRI dept. wanted to know make and model...just like a car...to determine what it was made of. No metal is allowed in the magnet . So last night I had to go through all his records for the info. I called it in this morning and just got the message back...no deal, it's metal. The next option is a CAT scan which is a multitude of radiation. So now he has to weigh the pros and cons...does he really need to know if he has water on the brain (that's a possibility with his walking problem according to neurology). Still pondering that one. Plus, he is scheduled for catarract removal, Aug 3rd for the right eye, and Aug 16th for the left. When it rains, it pours as somebody said. A pre-opt appt. is this Friday at 1. He's very excited about this since he cannot tell how many fingers I have up three feet in front of his face! Yesterday he also had a visit with his diabetes specialist and as we were sitting in the waiting area, I heard a familiar name announced. I had been looking at a lady, not really looking or paying much attention as I was babbling on to Jim, and when I heard that name, my brain fog must have lifted. I recognized an old friend whom I had not seen for almost thirteen years. I could not believe I had been looking at her and did not know who it was...and she had done the same thing with me. We had a wonderful time catching up while our hubbies were having their doctors' visits. A pleasant afternoon at the doctor's...now there's one for the books. until next time...c |
