to the voice of Earth,
to our Mother scream,
but not in the throws of birth.

Listen,
to her agony,
as mountain tops are removed
to feed
the bottom lines of corporations.

Listen,
to her reverberating pain,
as her children,
obedient to the gods of greed,
fracture her stone bones.

Listen
and you will hear her cries,
as they echo through atmosphere and mantel,
as she pleads,
for her daughters and sons
to show their love
and mercy;
to stop
fracking her bones
and scalping her mountains.
