Music, or no music?

DAY 7 PROMPT - Music can be inspirational.Has music ever inspired you to write or to create?
If so, what music inspires you the most? Any particular song(s) or artist(s)?
If not, what inspires you to write?

For me, music can be inspirational to write poetry, but when I'm writing a story, I need complete quiet. Even if this is impossible, once I get into my story, I tune out everything else anyway. Bombs could be going off outside, and I would not hear it. My story inspiration (the starter) can come from anything, a person's face, a photograph, my diary, a prompt, people watching, kitty antics, a memory, news stories...anything that jogs my imagination.

As for poetry, even if no music is actually playing, I hear music when I write poems. It's like the background music to the little scene I am creating, and the beat, of the music I make up, actually helps with the formation of the poem. If it does not fit the beat in my head, it's just not right, and I have to keep changing it until it does fit. Hope this makes sense...can't wait to see if anyone else does this....
