For or against?

Subject: Day 4 - Just go with it or go against.
This is a bit controversial...

Some countries legalize same sex marriage. Which is your stand,
Just go with it or go against?

I have to say today's prompt makes me a little uncomfortable. Why do we have to be for or against same sex marriage? What I am for...is people. I try to treat people the way I hope they will treat me without regard to their sexual preferences...or race, religion, or any other prejudice. If marriage is the only way to reap the legal benefits of a same sex union, then I have to be for it. But at my age and with my upbringing, it does take some getting used to.

I have no first hand knowledge to go by, but I have seen movies and tv shows where the lack of legality of same sex unions has played an important role with the results being heart wrenching. States who have passed the law may be doing so for the financial gain it will create, but it remains a clear fact that the people involved will reap the compassion of it. And I say for that.
