30-day blogging challenge
Jalál (Glory), 2 Rahmat (Mercy), 168 BE – Saturday, June 25, 2011 about 4:20 PM Pacific Time

On July 1, the 30-day blogging challenge begins. Each day the participants receive a new prompt and the have 24 hours to respond. I am looking for to this challenge because it will give me something new to cover. This type of challenges helps me discover new ideas for stories and poems.

When I respond to a challenge prompt, I like to find a way to relate it to my life. I know that having 24 hours to respond will stretch my creativity, but I believe that is what I need because I will have no time to procrastinate. I also will not have time to get depressed or worried about what to write. I will have to sit down and begin writing. Perhaps I should use timed free writes to compose my responses. Using timed free write forces me to focus on the subject and hand.

I have issues with timed free write because I cannot edit while I am writing. I have a tendency to edit while I write instead of simply pushing on wit writing. I want to go back and edit what I have written before going on to the next paragraph. Another issue concerns the number of words, if I have a specific word count I worry about whether I have reached that count.
