The Continuing Saga of Prosperous Snow |
Kamál (Perfection), 16 Núr (Light), 167 BE – Monday, June 20, 2011 about 2:00 PM Pacific Time The days have grown longer and warmer. On June 21, the summer solstice occurs. Las Vegas finally had its first triple digit day last week and the temperature rose to 103 degrees. The first triple digit day usually come in May and not the middle of June; rarely the temperature remain in the double digits past May 31. On June 21, the first day of summer, the temperature is supposed to rise to 100 degrees. I prefer cooler temperatures myself because as the temperature rises, the power bill rises. Today, I paid the June bill of $60.51 and the next meter reading occurs on June 28. I am not looking forward to the next power bill because I know it will be over $100.00; I suspect it will be close to $200.00. I can do little about the bill because this house is difficult to keep cool in the summer. I have turned the thermostat up to 83 degrees. Mom is not complaining about it being too warm or too cold. If the indoor air gets below 80 degrees, Mom gets cold, so I have to keep the house comfortable for her. I have three fans and I will use all three of them this summer. |
