Is DOMA dead?

Is DOMA dead ...or merely dying? I had to explain to 8 seniors today what DOMA was... very disheartening to have yet one more example of why I feel second class. Very depressing. Obama's reasons to not defend DOMA any further was that it is discriminatory and unconstitutional. Let's just hope this doesn't lead to impeachment... there are those who have been praying for that since the minute he was elected.

If you do not know what DOMA is please google it before sharing your ignorance here in a comment box. It affects millions. Ignorance is no excuse.

Need to clean. Kathy is looking for folks to host members of the band MarchForth this evening. My place is a wreck; but, I've been working on it and could be ready some time later this evening... if I get back home and c.l.e.a.n.!!!!

Cricket, the neighbor's cockatiel visited today. She preened my beard and basically stayed on my shoulder. Got a few things done, but it's hard to clean with a bird perched on me.

Some snow, some cold. I expected a storm. Didn't happen. But the frigid air should be settling in soon. 24 now, but below zero forecast, with winds and blizzard conditions. Winter shows no false Spring here in Western Montana.

I'm reading. Listening to others read. I'm writing in my journal, but still not writing poetry/prose. Thursday's writing group has been canceled... I'd be better off in Costa Rica or even Kansas (ouch!).

Facebook... 25 comments because Tom joins D&D? Yes, I remember D&D from 1972... but post anything intelligent that doesn't involve a movie star and see how many comments you get! Ask Tom... he should know... he's posted intelligent stuff before.

I do understand the boo-hoo crowd as well... and the I've-got-a-bandage response. But are people in general so shallow as to not care about issues that have depth? On-the-other-hand... the social-conservatives (the we-get-to-discriminate-against-anyone-we-don't-like crowd and cry anti-religious-discrimination in response) is alive and well on-line.

And the young people on FB seem to have no opinion at all about most anything. Unless it's a new hair-don't.

So... I'm having a disheartening day.
