Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills. |
ME: Karen is 58 today; her mother is 90. I'll feel old when my little sister turns 50 end of this month. I'm in denial until then... It is snowing and the pristine whiteness is lovely. Should take a walk like I did the last couple of days. I suspect it's less slippery. I nearly snoozed on the sofa but forced myself out for turkey-sandwich lunch. Have caught up a bit on captioning and organizing my FB photos. If I ever get them all posted... that could take months. Do you use FB to keep in touch ...or another means? I call my aunt and mother and occasionally other friends by phone. Esfan in Colorado and Carol in Kansas called me recently and I made quite a few calls from Costa Rica. Also sent some postcards from there. At FB I'll "share" a photo and a message with folks... need to do more. Like when I used to read a gazillion blog entries here in Blogville. Then I had better internet connection. Nowadays I'm lazy. My cellphone has a FB app and I can post from most anywhere. Even did well while I was in CR for two months. Still, nothing like face-to-face. I was thinking specifically about Mandy in Iowa today, how it would be great to go to market in Des Moines or just take a stroll around the park, go down some backwoods country highway. If I had use of a transporter... beam me up! But... a bus trip in winter? Nah. Must wait till spring. Missoula is great once the university students get back. Lots of activities. Inside and out. There's a big filmfest this month along with the normal busy schedule. I can choose between lectures, theatre ("Bus Stop"), music, art or just hang with my fellow crazies in the coffeehouses. The snowflakes beckon. 21,014 |
