Online journal capturing the moment and the memory of moments. A meadow meditation. |
Been writing... just not posting like I should! Perhaps a bit of discipline would help? Planning for this trip proved to be stressful and not conducive to accomplishing anything else. Kissing Judas We seek authenticity; but, we're much more than merely who we want to be: proud creatures of our family, society, a culture and a state, our state of being defined by us, determined worthy or not by others, our fate so often sealed by a kiss. I kiss you as I must, you who love me as much as I love you, who to stay alive lives by the hands of others, the same hands that would bid me die. Two lips then on your brow to seal our fate, our undying love of each other. © Kåre Enga [167.194] 2010-09-18 "But, we are much more than who we want to be" and the title were the prompts. The thought was a twist on how as a society we portray Judas. I need to write more poems and prose asking the reader to look beyond our preconceptions and what we are taught. Read a dreary little book published in 1911 by Mrs. E.F.A. Beeler (of Tacoma,WA?) called Brown Studies. It is quite dreary and mostly didactic. But... I will reread the poems and get from it what I must. Reminds me that we-all must be willing to break out of the styles and genres popular at the time of our writing and expand beyond. Beautiful clear day here in Eureka. About 68 degrees and perfect. 60,990 |
