Lesson learned
I thought writing a story was difficult; the struggle to formulate my thoughts into words and spending an hour to write a single paragraph, only to edit it a thousand times.  I realize now - writing is easy compared to the effort it takes to get a book published.  It took a year to write the story and I'll probably be dead before it gets published.  It's a dream to one day see my book on the shelves, but I'm hopeful and not discouraged.  It's my first attempt at writing anything and I can't complain because there are many experienced and school prepped writers who face a similar battle.
