2010 Pond Update #1 - 01/13/2010

Hello Pond Members -

With 2010 into full swing and the holidays safely behind us, it's time for another Talent Pond Update! Brooke has done a great job getting the winter activity series into gear, so let's start with that. If you haven't had a chance to check it out yet, head over to the "Winter Writing Warm Up"  and see what's up!

Events include:

Brooke is currently running the series' main event, the "Invalid Item" , which has an Ice Fishing Challenge, Slalom Skiing Scavenger Hunt, and Snow-Man Build-Off! She's really gone all-out this season, so please consider participating and showing your support for all her hard work!

JACE has just kicked off his "Review Hockey! *Rink is Closed*"  activity, which will run for the next three weeks.

"Invalid Item"  will start up this Sunday (January 17th). Rumor has it that yours truly is going to be helping out with the judging, so here's your chance to laugh and point fingers at my painful lack of poetry expertise!

Starting on Sunday, January 24th, we'll be taking over the "Daily Flash Fiction Challenge" . We'll be wreaking all kinds of havoc on this WDC fixture, running amok with crazy prompts and special prizes!

And of course, what activity series would be complete without a grand finale? Starting Sunday, January 31st, we'll have the "Invalid Item"  where the staff will recognize the best entries from the entire activity series.

Not a bad bunch of activities, huh?

In other group news, the February round of "Beyond The Water's Edge - CLOSED"  is fully underway, although I've been criminally negligent in judging the entries from the January round and getting the prizes out. I'll do my best to get to those in the next couple of days. In the meantime, please enjoy the winter activities and keep on writing and reviewing!
