September 18 ~ Clock

Fear no longer grips me, for I find comfort here. It’s as if I am floating toward another realm. Flying towards an illumination far away, but so bright that it somehow speaks to me, guiding me forward. Thousands of stars surround me now, their essence fluttering like butterflies in the pit of my stomach. I dance through their energy, getting closer to my destination, the pull strong as the ticking filters into my ears. I hear it and realize that I am heading toward the most spectacular clock I’ve ever seen.

The sound is constant in my ears, tick...tock…tick…tock. My heart pounds in time with the device. As I reach it, my hand poised to touch the glow, the black hands stop moving, my heart stops. The light fades, blackness encompassing me. Time stands still.
I am alone.
I am no more.
