What is Poetry
What is poetry?
I was told as a child
That poetry rhymes.
Yet writing as an adult
My poems rarely rhyme
According to my sister
Poems are light and airy -
My poems are too deep
Too morbid.
I always believe
Poems were pieces of you
Expressed through the mood you're in
And how you see the world.
If you can't express
Who you are in your poetry
How and where
Can you express yourself?
