Birds and Planets
Hello! So it has been two weeks. I have other things to do you know.
But last night something nice happened. It was time to take the garbage out at 1:00 am (6/18/09). I have been waiting for the return of my special little friend Sattie. If you want to know that is the knickname I gave to the planet Saturn as I looked at it through my Jason telescope.
There she was. Four of her many moons very visible with her. It was so breath-taking. I was so excited until a stupid cloud covered her and she was not visible any more. I guess God was trying to tell me to go to bed.
As I was putting things away, I made a mental list of the few things that really do make me feel good. The return of Saturn coincides with the beginning of summer. I think the last time I saw her was around the first day of winter. (what a bummer!)
The next thing that I get so excited is when the geese flly over the house and I can hear their honking. I look for the beautiful, famous V and there it is. I try to imagine the many miles these wonderful animals have flown year after year. It is incredible. I wish them a safe trip and hope that they land in an area where there are no hunters. That is why I wouldn't mind buying a large farm with a small lake or pond so these birds can land and rest. But since I am getting up in age that does not seem likely. I'm not ruling it out but I would have to amend my plans.
I really don't look forward to anything else. Birthday-NO, Christmas-died in 2008, Mother's Day-don't qualify, and Valentine's Day-No beaux-no cards.
So that's the way it is. Birds and planets. What an exciting life I have. (Duh!)
