I must get out of my comfort coffin more often! Yep. That's what I realized when I read "the merengue never ends." , a wonderful evening of dancing the salsa, the merengue, the ... well, whatever. IdaLin actually made me want to join her. And I don't dance. I keep my feet firmly plastered to the ground as my body tries to free itself. Someday, yeah someday ... I'll be in a coffin and not moving much, so why not get out now ... and free my knees? One who did dance: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/032709dnmetda... I reply that I just might except he'd make my heart go flutter, might provoke a metamorphosis, give me wings of joyful flight. But, I'm too old and he's too young, there is no question. Across our generations: only smirks, a gulp, an inhalation, a catch in throat, sad expiration, limp wings that calmly flutter, close then hope when in this herbal dream of butterflies one door opens. © 2009 Kåre Enga [166.11] 2009-03-28 Based on going to the front door at BH's and finding it locked. And a snippet of conversation as well. [Edited after Alfred's comment] blah-blah-BLAH-blah-blah: Quiet weekend. Read blogs, wrote. Didn't go out much. The damp chilly weather does not amuse me. March is not my favorite month. Did make an interesting dish yesterday. I crushed up coconut cookies and mixed the crumbs with ground pork. I simmered the pork-balls with rutabaga while I sliced up apple and halved red grapes and sprinkled curry over them. When the rutabaga was softened (it takes awhile) I just added the fruit and put a lid on it. Before eating I crumbled up some plain feta and sprinkled on top. It was very very very good. MILLSTONES and MILESTONES: My journal finally reached 2,002 pages ... in Book #22. Time for me to think about attending a writer's conference: Sephina mentioned one in Muncie, IN at Ball State on July 23-25: http://www.midwestwriters.org/ BLOGVILLE It was QUIET this weekend in Blogville. Everyone must've been having fun or sandbagging for the flood in Fargo. Here in the Blogville exurbs, we got smacked by big wet flakes. But ... it's Monday and my email box is full!
