What am I Doing Here?

Will the real IDIOT please stand up!

There was a really neat song of the 1980s or 90s that began, "Monday, Monday, can't take that day.....etc....etc...." Well this might be an exception to the song. Today, is not so bad. I have done a little work in about everything from gardening, putting out trash, and next studying on-line.
BUT....I was caught completely off guard when Mister I'm the Boss of the Family, called. The conversation was as if NOTHING had happened.
"Did you know that Circuit City is selling its DVDs for 50% off?" My thought "Yea and what else is new that you are going to try to tell me about?"

"Oh little 'E' is good at - - - - - - - - - - and you should come watch her play. My thought "Yea and what else is on your mind?"
"GA and I are going to visit campuses for being selected for college next fall." My thought "After failing his math class, you think he might get into that school?"

I could go on and on but there was no word about the two big holidays that either we were on different planets and subspace communications was out or he had not paid his phone bill and could not reach me. So I had to up the ante and just say that before we got together as a family, we would need to talk. He was silent and later said, "Okay, I guess we do need to talk."

What would you think? I guess it is a start, but I hope that he does not think I am a COMPLETE IDIOT!
