Red car

In your red
car, slip and slide
over the frozen
ooze.
Ease off the brakes.

Stay awake; don't snooze.
The day's just begun and there are reports to ready.

Work slides
by and you take a break,
put a frozen
burger in the microwave, wait till it no longer oozes
red.

It's done and the coffee is ready.
Through the rest of the day: eat, drink, don't snooze.

Slide
into your red
car. Put on the heater. Ooze
out of the parking space. The frozen
moon will break

through the clouds to show you the way. Once home, be ready
to snooze.

Liam was driving in the slush and a red car went by. Why I was prompted to write this I may never know. The form shows elements of the sestina.

BLOGVILLE

"Song for Cory"  was inspired by a blog contest. The prompt was crazy, candles, cares, cowboy. I started it in Shelly's blog and then wrote more and edited. As some might gather ... there was a song in my mind.
