Day 12: The Books from the Fire

Prompt: A global natural disaster has struck and trapped you inside one of the largest public libraries in the world. In order to survive you must burn as many books as you can to keep warm until rescue can come and get you. However, as these may be the last salvageable copies left in the world, you feel the need to save some of them.

What three books do you save from the fires and why?

1. The Book of Certitude revealed by Baha’u’llah, because it explains the symbols in the Holy Books and reveals the relationship between the founders of all religions.

2. The Complete Works of Edgar Allen Poe, which contains all of his stories and poems, because I think Poe’s works, reveal some interesting aspects of human nature.

3. The Martian Chronicles because it is an interesting book to read and gives a person pause to think.
