Day 11: Only time will tell

Write about something that will be revealed with time...

Only time will tell
if I have a job next year;
perhaps this is just another groundless fear
worming its way into my soul;
another test striking at my persistence
to overcome the terrors
generated by low self-esteem;
terrors I should have overcome
before I turned sixty-one.

Only time will tell
if I should have used my three weeks off
looking for a weekly paycheck job
rather then cleaning house
and attempting to increase my on-line income.

Only time will tell
the secrets the future holds in store for me;
I cannot see
if next year will be better, worse, or unchanged;
I can only hope for the best,
while placing my trust in God
rather then obsessing
over unfounded fears and vain imaginings.
